Premier League Preview: Crystal Palace v Man United Posted: 20 Feb 2014 09:57 AM PST The Selhurst Park outfit have not beaten United in the league since 1991, losing nine and drawing two of the 11 fixtures to take place during that period. Eric Cantona's infamous kung-fu kick on a Palace supporter in 1995 came more recently than the last Palace triumph in this fixture, with United picking up a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford earlier in the season. But Palace boss Tony Pulis, who himself has never picked up a win over United in the Premier League as a manager, may view this as the ideal opportunity to play the reigning champions, who will be short on confidence having gone three matches without a win. Pulis' charges have won three of their last four games in the Premier League - a run that has seen them climb to 15th in the table - but with just two points separating Palace from the relegation zone, an unexpected three points would be more then welcome. United drew 0-0 at Arsenal last time out and face a UEFA Champions League last-16 clash against Olympiacos three days after this Saturday's encounter, but Pulis fully expects David Moyes to have his side at full strength at the weekend. "He's a winner," he said. "He wants to win football matches, so he'll pick a team to win at Crystal Palace." That said, Moyes has become a fan of rotation this term, having not named the same starting XI for any two competitive games. No Palace player has provided more than one assist in the Premier League this season, but United have their own attacking concerns, with Wayne Rooney having failed to score or assist in his last five matches - his longest such run since 2011. In recent times, there has not been much to choose between the sides. Since Pulis took charge of Palace at the end of November, Palace have achieved just two points fewer than United, having played one game less. However, the Welshman insists he is taking a game-by-game approach at Selhurst Park. "I don't think you can look any further than the next game in this league," he said. "If you win games you've got to keep your feet on the ground and keep pushing forward. "If you lose games, you've got to dust yourself down, get up and get ready for the next one. "That's the way it's going to be from now until the end of the season." Palace could be without Jerome Thomas, who has picked up a back problem, while Glenn Murray could be in line for a first start since returning from injury. Marouane Fellaini, meanwhile, could feature for United for the first time since December 4, while Jonny Evans (calf) remains doubtful. Man United have not had the breaks, says Pulis Posted: 20 Feb 2014 07:58 AM PST United travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday, looking for their first win in four league matches, while Palace have won three of their last four. But Pulis believes Old Trafford counterpart David Moyes will eventually lead the reigning champions out of their current rough patch. "They've got some outstanding players and I've watched the last three games on tapes and they could have won the games comfortably," he said. "Last year - with Sir Alex (Ferguson) - they did have breaks. They never played as well as they did the previous year but they had the breaks and they won the games. "Unfortunately - with Dave - they haven't had the breaks, so they've not been able to pick up momentum. "In time, David will turn it the way he wants it. The people behind the scenes will give David that time. "Irrespective of what the press and the media will say, he couldn't be at a better club with better people. "They've been there before, albeit 25-30 years ago, but they were in this position before." The Welsh boss admits it was a setback to have their last fixture at Everton called off during a good run of form, but praised the Goodison Park outfit for their treatment of the travelling party. "It's disappointing because were on such a good run," Pulis added. "You want to keep playing when things are going well for you. "Everton Football Club were absolutely fantastic. When the game was called off, they fed the players, they found us a hotel to stay in, they got us training facilities the next day and they paid for everything. They actually paid for everything. "I just hope the chairman's already paid back what we owe them. "As a football club, they deserve a lot of credit for the way they looked after us." Inter chief claims Vidic deal 90 percent done Posted: 20 Feb 2014 06:22 AM PST The Serbia international centre-back announced his decision to end his eight-year association with the Premier League champions earlier in February. Uniteds outgoing captain was reportedly disappointed with the lack of movement on a long-term contract at Old Trafford and subsequently announced he would play for a side outside of England. Inter emerged as favourites for his signature, and his move to San Siro is seemingly nearing a conclusion. I cant saying anything other than the deal for Vidic is 90 per cent done, Thohir told journalists at Milans Malpensa airport. When everything is sorted we will make an announcement. Vidic has enjoyed a fruitful spell during his time at United, collecting five Premier League titles and three League Cups, as well as enjoying success in Europe when he lifted the UEFA Champions League in 2008. Knee injuries have plagued Vidic in recent seasons, though he shaken them off to make 23 appearances for David Moyes side this term.
